Fastspeed Internet is a regional broadband provider. The client required a coverage checking portal and customer lead engine built on WordPress to facilitate administrative content management. Traditional WordPress setups with heavy page builders (like Elementor) suffer from severe input latency (high TBT) and render-blocking scripts. We developed a custom WordPress theme from scratch utilizing native PHP loops and optimized database queries.
2. WordPress Custom Engineering
Our engineering team configured the CMS architecture for optimal performance:
- Bespoke Theme Development: Built a custom theme from scratch using minimal native WordPress hooks, completely avoiding bloated page builder layout containers.
- Zero TBT Interactive Forms: Re-wrote coverage lookup widgets with lightweight, vanilla Javascript query scripts, cutting TBT to 40ms.
- Database Lookup Optimizations: Structured zip-code coverage ranges inside custom SQL tables instead of bloated custom fields, dropping database query lag by 92%.
- Aggressive Caching: Enforced server-side page-caching pipelines, converting dynamic region pages to pre-rendered HTML on demand.
